Iceland working to attract more business travelers in the New Year
January 4, 2013
Iceland has become a hot spot to travel, as the beautiful country brings in a great deal of tourists, which helps with its ongoing economic recovery. However, now the country wants to shift its focus more on business travelers, in the hopes that it can become a hub for those traveling from Europe to the United States and vice versa, according to Ice News.
"The tourism numbers fluctuate a lot, depending on the season, whereas corporate travel is distributed more evenly throughout the year," Thorsteinn Orn Gudmundsson told CNN.
So far, Iceland has a decent number of flights that are one-way from the U.S. to it, and it is hoping to keep expanding this to bring in more business travelers. They believe they are continually laying the groundwork by improving their airlines, the media outlet reports.
No matter where a business traveler is going, it is important that they pack light and also bring their calling cards, so it is always easy and cheap to call home regardless of where they are headed.
